Reverend Ruth Susan Moore is the
Director of Business Development & Admissions at the Pennsylvania
Psychiatric Institute (PPI). She is also
the Head of Diversity and Inclusion and is the Community Liaison for PPI.
In 1990, Rev. Moore became one of
the Duke of Edinburgh’s facilitators whose aim was to
create a world where young people could reach their full potential whatever
their social, cultural, ethnic circumstances were, to complete the Duke of
Edinburgh’s award and succeed, regardless of any barriers, including the lack
of previous education.
In 1998, selected by the Lord
Chancellor, on behalf of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II to become one of the
youngest individuals in the country to be accepted and become a Justice of the
Peace in the Queen’s courts of London.
In 1999, Rev. Moore became a
voluntary 24 hour Domestic Counselor for women at Refuge; the UK’s National
Home for Abused Women & Children. In
addition to this, Rev. Moore volunteered her time at the YWCA in the Violence
and Intervention Program for abused women between 2011 & 2014.
She is the 2012 recipient of the
Pennsylvania Baptist State Convention Women’s Ministry “Women of Distinction”
Award And she is a 1984 past Graduate of
Thames Valley University in Marketing Management.
Rev. Moore graduated from the
Academy of Christian Training & Service (ACTS) American Baptist Churches of
Pennsylvania & Delaware (ABCOPAD) studying Church Leadership in 2014, where
she is now the DEAN of Student Advancement.
She was licensed to preach in 2014 at her home church Goodwin Memorial
Baptist Church under Rev. Dr. James D. Jackson and was ordained in 2016.
As well as her full time job at the
Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute, and American Baptist Churches of
Pennsylvania & Delaware, she volunteers her time at UPMC Pinnacle Hospitals as
a volunteer Chaplain and collaborates with Penn State Hershey Medical Center by supporting their community nurses with her team of volunteers to provide support to individuals requiring mental health resources at the Prince of Peace Catholic church Food Pantry in Steelton, PA.
Rev. Moore is a nationally
certified instructor by Mental Health First Aid USA to teach both the Adult and
Youth Mental Health First Aid eight hour’ programs. In addition to the PA State Police Cadet Academy Mental health Trainer.
She is currently the President of Diversity Professonal of Central PA, past Vice President of the Board of the
Jewish Family Service Harrisburg, PA. And past Member of the Board of Paxton Street Ministries 2011-
2016.
Reverend Moore is happily married
to The Reverend Keith R. Moore, Pastor of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist
Church Altoona, PA. They have two children, Pablo and Brittani, Daughter in Law Kathryn, and two
Grandchildren Ryley and Mariah.
